Ricardo Tejero, Niko Meinhold & Bonequi

The project born after the first recording of Tabla y Cuchillo at Rupprechtstraße St. in Berlin. Tejero & Bonequi performed together since 2006 with the Orchestra FOCO in Madrid, and in 2008 they were touring and recording in Barcelona, Madrid, Málaga and London with Dave Tucker
for the release Machinations of Joy.
Since 2010 both are guest members of the Berlin Improvisers Orchestra and started performing beside of Niko Meinhold
(co-founder of BeRio), and the story will continue...
Ricardo Tejero, one of the few Spaniards actively installed in the underground scene of London, board member of the Collective of Spanish improvisers Musicalibre and the FOCO Orchestra,
member of the London Improvisers Orchestra which he has conducted and also present with several projects in different European stages of Belgium, United Kingdom, Germany and Holland
where he has conducted on several occasions the Dutch Royal Improvisers Orchestra.
Niko Meinhold Studied at HfM "Hanns Eisler" Berlin, at Kungligan Musikhögskolan Stockholm. Masters at Jazzinstitut Berlin.
Wrote compositions for solo instruments, ensembles, also for film, TV, and radio (like Rias Bigband and NDR Bigband) as well as for theatre and cd productions.
Won Awards such as the Karl-Hofer-Award, the Berlin Senat Composers Grant, Award for best German University Ensemble for his trio Tritorn, Nordiska Kulturfondet Tourgrant for his Scandinavian
group Northern Alliance for a Scandinavia tour accompanied by dancers. Toured and played on festivals in the USA, UK, Japan, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Colombia, Rumania, Iceland, South Korea,
Senegal, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Israel and of course Germany. Frequent guest professor at the music faculty of Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá/ Colombia.
Julian Bonequi ( 1974 ) is a self-taught mexican artist working mostly with multigenre extreme improvisation since 1995 in Mexico and since 2004 in
Europe. Curator and Project Manager of Audition Records, as well as independent promoter devoted to the experimental scene. Has performed as drummer under
the conduction of William Parker, Keith Tippett, Eddie Prévost, London Improvisers Orchestra, Berlin Improvisers Orchestra... and with artists such as Joke Lanz, Mat Pogo,
Tristan Honsinger, Alex von Schlippenbach, Didrik Ingvaldsen, Audrey Chen, Ute Wassermann, Paal Nilssen-Love, Hans Tammen, among others. Has taught at the Polytechnic University
of Valencia and the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, as well as working in research groups and interactive technologies, and currently is based in Mexico City where he teaches
at CENTRO and works as Art Director and 3d artist.
